Environment/lithology: terrestrial; lithified, muddy, silty sandstone

• Mascall Formation sediments are composed of primarily fluvial and lacustrine deposits, generally of a uniform tan to light yellow color. In the Crooked River Basin, the Mascall has significantly more fluvial sequences than even the lowermost portion of the type area (Bestland, 1998), with thick cross-bedded sandstones and pebble conglomerates common
